Darjeeling: Among the most renowned hill stations in India, Darjeeling( (7100 Ft)) has a most colourful history dating back to the 19th century when the British set up a military hold and Sanatorium. Known the world over for its production of the finest Black Tea, Darjeeling has seen its ups and downs due to political unrest but however with the dawn of the 21st century, tourism has picked up with renewed enthusiasm. With the old world charm of its mall and picturesque tea estates dotting the hill sides , a visit here is a must for those travelling this part of the country.

Gangtok: Sikkim is a very beautiful place in North Eastern Region . Sikkim, formerly a sovereign kingdom became the 22nd state of India in 1975. Sikkim, the land of Tranquility, Peace and Hidden Paradise. The capital of Sikkim, Gangtok, is situated in the east district and it is the hub of all administrative activity in Sikkim. Among others, the world famous Rumtek Monastery, Dharma Chakra Centre and the seat of his holiness, the Gyalwa Karmapa is also located here. Sikkim offers a great many interesting places to visit such as the alpine Tsomgu Lake and the Nathula Pass. Ropeway cable car in the capital is another attraction for the visitor.

Kalimpong: At an altitude of 1250m, Kalimpong's location is ideal for a pleasant, relaxed getaway. Its clement weather has made Kalimpong's orchids and gladiole well renowned. Up to the early 1700s, the Kalimpong area was part of the Sikkim raja's domain. In the early 18th century, the Bhutan king also took it over. In 1865, after the Anglo-Bhutan War, it was annexed to Darjeeling. Scottish Missionaries came here in the late 1800s.

Days - Itenary
Day : 1 - Arrival and Transfer to Darjeeling

Our representative will be there to receive the Guest at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – He will be assisting for the transfer to Darjeeling – Darjeeling (7100 Ft), the "Queen of the hill stations", its name derived from "Dorje-Line" which means the place of "Dorje", the mystic thunderbolt. Covering a distance of 88 kms over a drive of 3.5 hrs along winding roads ,it is an experience of unforgettable beauty. Check-in at Hotel. Spend the evening lazing around or walk down to the mall to do some window-shopping. Overnight stay.

Day : 2 - Darjeeling Local Sightseeing

Start the day at 4am with an early morning trip to Tiger Hill (7800 Ft) to catch the sunrise from behind the majestic Kunchenjunga range. On the way back visit the Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. Back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast take a trip to "Mirik" (6000 Ft) – the newest hill-station in the Darjeeling hills. Famous for its squash (the vegetable) & the picturesque lake, this quiet township is also surrounded by gardens which produce some of the finest teas. The lake offers boating and fishing apart from a view of snowcapped peaks. Enjoy the fulfilling experience of Nature in its purest form mingled with the unique culture prevalent here. Spend the rest of the day at Mirik to reach Darjeeling back by sunset. Night Halt at Darjeeling.

Day : 3 - Darjeeling to Gangtok (Local Sightseeing)

After breakfast transfer to gangtok 5600ft , captail of sikkim , a beautiful hill town via teesta river valley reach gangtok , chek in at the hotel and enjoy evening individual activities . after lunch , enjoy gangtok local sight seeing which includes banjhakri waterfalls , rock gardens , chorten stupa , enchey monastery , tashi view point , ganesh tok , hanuman tok , zoological park , ropeway ride. And later back to the hotel , overnight stay.

Day : 4 - Excursion to Tsomgo Lake , Baba Mandir & Nathula Boarder (Full Day)

Morning breakfast at hotel – Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir nearly 40 kilometers and 2 hours drive along the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, the home to the red panda and the blood pheasant with Rhododendron and other alpine trees along the road - Situated at an elevation of 3753 meters / 12310 feet - The Lake is oval shaped lake nearly 50 feet deep - Generally covered in snow for most of the year the year – This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds – Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all - Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is optional tour - Back to Gangtok - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center - Over Night stay at Gangtok

Day : 5 - Gangtok–Kalimpong

After breakfast, visit Nam Nang VP/Ropeway ; Do-Drul Chorten (Stupa) which is one of the most important stupas of Sikkim, built by the head of the Nyingma order- Trullshi Rimpoche in 1945. It contains rare details of Dorji Phupa, Holy Books, Mantras and is encircled by 108 prayer wheels ; The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology built in 1958 in traditional style, a renowned worldwide centre for the study of the Mahayana Buddhist philosophy & religion, a treasure house of rare "Thankas", statues, over 200 Buddhist icons and prized objects of art, to Rumtek Monastery, 24 kms from Gangtok was built in 1960 by His Holiness the Late 16th Gyalwa Karmapa & this is a replica of the original Kagyurpa Monastery in Tibet, a must see for every visitor, the seat of the "Kagyu Order" . Behind the Monastery is the lavishly decorated Karmae Nalanda Institute of Buddhist Studies which attracts students from the world over. Here one can find the most unique religious scriptures & art objects of the world. After lunch, leave Gangtok to reach Kalimpong (4000 Ft) by 11am, a drive of 76 kms, 2.5hrs. Also called the garden of flowers, this town has almost everything- scenic beauty, flowers, greenery, waters, mists, clouds etc. Check-in and rest of the day at leisure. Night halt at Kalimpong.

Day : 6 - Kalimpong

After breakfast, proceed for a half day sightseeing of Durpin Hill (which has the famous Zong Dog Palri Fo- Brang Monastery which belongs to the same Buddhist sect as the present Dalai Lama) , Jelapla View Point, Pine View Point, Dr Graham's Homes complex with its historic church & well maintained grounds founded in 1900 by Rev. Dr. J A Graham, a Scottish missionary, Delo Hill (5556 ft)appears to be the roof- of- the- world, is the highest point in Kalimpong. Delo also has the town's picturesque water reservoir. Then on to Mangal Dham Temple constructed in memory of timepiecebuy the late Guru Shree (108) Mangal Dasji and dedicated to Lord Krishna, Kalimpong Arts & Crafts Centre. Evening at leisure with a visit to the market.where you do some curio shopping, buy some Kalimpong Cheese & lollypops of Swiss technology from "Larks" or just take a walk thru the market . Night halt at Kalimpong.

Day : 7 - Departure: Kalimpong To NJP/ Bagdogra :

After breakfast transfer to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) - Nearly 135 kilometers 4? - 5 hours drive – Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey.
